Make the most of this year’s summer holiday by following these tips to ensure a stress free time from the start.
Check-in online. All airlines allow you to now check-in on line, this reduces the amount of time you will spend queuing, and if your taking only hand luggage you may not need to even queue at all with some airlines.
Buy some compact luggage scales. Airlines are always looking for more and more ways to increase revenue and are now much more likely to charge for overweight bags. A luggage scale could easily pay for itself in one trip with current baggage rates and it’s easy to go over the limit, especially if you are bringing back gifts.
Pack light. If you’re only going for a few days try and pack everything into your hand luggage – this way you won’t need to queue to check-in and also won’t need to wait at the luggage carousel for your bags to turn up (or even have the stress of fearing they wont turn up!)
Put important items and essential medication into your hand luggage. If the worst should happen and your case goes missing you’ll still have what you need to start your holiday until it turns up.
Stay in an Airport Hotel the night before your flight. Rushing to the airport for an early flight is no fun – so why not book a hotel close to the airport the night before. Many offer combined car parking and hotel packages with free shuttle coaches to the airport that cost less than the official car parks on their own!
