Amazon.com
Poor Korea had spent centuries being overrun by the Japanese, the Chinese, and other empires, but in 1988 the tiger was given its chance to burn bright at the Summer Olympics in Seoul. Touring Korea gives us the grand tour through South Korea’s rich history and traditions–Buddhism, Confucianism, and Christianity have all left their marks–and shows off enough of the gorgeous landscape to whet anyone’s appetite for a peaceful vacation. Korea was traditionally a nation that wanted only to be left alone, but South Korea has come to embrace the rest of the world, to welcome us into their polite society. (Until comparatively recently, the government had a Ministry of Etiquette.) See the Olympic sites, the breathtaking southern coast, the relics of Kyongju, and “the Hawaii of Korea,” and prepare yourself for an enchanting mix of old customs and new delights–Touring Korea takes you there with style. –Rob Lightner

South Africans have for many years been burdened with having to get visas for most of the countries we would like to travel to. This has been particularly frustrating for the many young travellers who work in the United Kingdom for a couple of years when they are in the early twenties and want to travel as much as they can. The endless forms, costs and stress that the visa may be denied even after you have paid for your holiday (which is a requirement) is something most of us can do without, especially when travelling in a group and you see how easy and stress free it is for everyone else that is travelling on other passports.

Here is a current list of the countries South African passport holders can travel to without a visa, but as this changes constantly, it is adviseable to check the website listed at the bottom of the article to confirm the current visa requirements:

Africa: Botswana, Cape Verde, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Saint Helena, Senegal, Swaziland, Zambia.
Asia: Hong Kong, Israel, Macau, Malaysia, Palau, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey
Australasia: New Zealand
Caribbean: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, US Virgin Islands.
Europe: Andorra, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Turkey
Indian Ocean: Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles
South Pacific: Fiji, Micronesia, Nauru, Samoa, Tuvalu, Vanuatu
Americas: Argentina, Belize, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Falkland Islands, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Panama, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela.

As visa requirements for South Africans change constantly, it is best to check an up to date list.

To see the current and up to date list of where South Africans can travel without a visa, click here!

I don’t know about you but my parents raised me to always get the best for the price when I buy something. I have lived by that my whole life, I want the best but I want it at a good price. You should follow this rule when you are buying Insurance for your trip, look for the Best Travel Insurance at the best price.

I’m not talking about cheap travel insurance because whenever you buy the cheapest of anything you have to be sacrificing something. That’s why it’s the cheapest. So you must decide what it is that you don’t want it to have, what are you willing to sacrifice. Think about it, if you buy the cheapest travel insurance what benefits are you giving up. Believe me you will be getting less if you buy cheap but if you buy only what you need and nothing less then you will have made a good purchase. That’s what I call the Best Travel Insurance, it meets your needs so that you feel comfortable with it, you are skimping on anything.

To give you a non-insurance example, my wife went shopping for a new car yesterday. I was extremely busy so she went alone and she asked me for advice before she left. I told her to get what she wanted, not less than she wanted or needed but above all make sure you get a good quality car. She had already spent hours on the Internet looking at different cars and had decided on a fairly new model from S. Korea. Well when she saw it she really didn’t like it so she had to spend all day shopping. She phoned me because she couldn’t make up her mind between a cheap car and another that was a couple thousand more. I told her to get what she felt was best for her, what will meet her needs. She finally decided on the more expensive car because it was a better car and the company had a very good reputation for reliability. When she got home she was a little concerned about whether or not she had made the right decision. My comment was did exactly what she needed to do, she got the best she could for the money not the cheapest.

When you shop for travel insurance you should do the same thing, get the Best Travel Insurance don’t settle for the cheapest. If you feel like you need help selecting what you need you can get help at Global Travel Coverage, they will be happy to help you find the Best Travel Insurance for your particular vacation or trip.

Thank you for your time and I hope you read more of my articles in the future.
