America has been called the âfast food nationâ and for better or worse, fast food restaurants are popping up in just about every area of the country.
One interesting change has occurred that is both encouraging and worth mentioning;Â Â the fact that fast food is no longer dominated by a few select chains offering the same type of boring food over and over again.
Indeed, foods from a variety of cultures and countries are now readily available, as fast food and chains specialized in offering these foods, are a growing industry.
Although the interest in this ethnic cuisine is gaining in popularity, one country already seems to have quite a slew of fans. Mexican fast food has already established itself as a mainstay within the fast food industry and continues to grow in leaps and bounds â with is directly linked to the love affair Americans seem to have with Mexican fast food.
With its variety of flavors, spices and colors, Mexican food offers the hungry consumer a huge selection of dishes including the well known and deeply appreciated, tacos, burritos and nachos.  These dishes are great when you are on the run or when you simply have a yearning for some good Mexican food.
Unfortunately, the fast food served at Mexican restaurants can also, as with most fast food, contain its share of fat, salt and sugar. However, where it may be difficult to find âhealthierâ choices at other fast food chains, you can actually make a very healthy meal from ingredients available at Mexican fast food restaurants. Because Mexican Food involves healthy foods such as avocado, rice, beans and salsa, you can easily order a dish containing all of these ingredients and âholdâ the cheese (although, of course, the cheese is, for many, the best part of the meal).
If salad is what you like, you can find many Mexican food chains that now offer salads with low fat dressing and this can be a perfect meal along with some sliced avocado (incredibly healthy) and a side of rice.
Mexican fast food offers up a variety of choices for every taste (and taste bud) you may have. It is worth a try.
